Welcome to Poktoy Palm Haven, the only surf camp on some of the best coastline for surfing in the Philippines. Located on the outskirts of the small town of Lanuza, our house break is a long right hander that rolls along the sandy bottom of the river mouth. It’s a classic long board wave but excellent for short boards too. Minutes away are a series of barreling reef breaks. The waves of Lanuza Bay offer something for all skill levels, from beginners to professionals. The season runs from October through March, with November and December bringing the most consistent and cleanest swell. Don’t miss out! We look forward to welcoming you into our community and onto our waves.
Lanuza Bay offers some of the best and least crowded surfing in the Philippines. Located in Surigao del Sur, Mindanao, it takes a little more traveling to reach, but the trip is worth it. It’s a very quiet and relaxed part of the Philippines. (Don’t let the troubles in southwestern Mindanao deter you. Those are a long, long way away and never, ever reach to this part of the country.) The people in the area are very friendly and extremely welcoming to the traveling surfer.
Poktoy Palm Haven is a family run affair, managed by son Jade Orozco and overseen by his lovely grandmother. Jade, an excellent surfer himself, is happy to give advice on surf conditions at the different breaks. He can also help you with everything. When you are a guest at Poktoy, you are treated more like you are a member of the extended family than merely a customer. It feels like a community, not a business. - Read More
